Synopsis and Direction
A Sicilian and professional journalist by training, Nella dedicates herself for years to the social and historic documentary, prioritizing narratives of the "invisible history" of movements, peoples and women. Expert in the history and civilization of the Arab and Muslim world, she has produced "behind-the-scenes" reports and documentaries about the sites of conflict and forgotten wars.
She is a National Journalist prize-winner and a Great Communicators winner of the Sasso Marconi prize for innovation in narrative languages. Her passion is to research and narrate the "invisible story" of Sicily, beginning with the peasant movement and the anti-Mafia resistance.
With "1893. The investigation" (1893. L'inchiesta) she represented for the first time on the big screen the episode of the Sicilian Workers' Fasci, considered by international historians as the most important social movement of the 20th century after the Paris Comune. She lives and works in a small town on the slopes of Etna.
Born in Turin, now living in Rome, Enrica started working in the theater while very young and regularly appears on the documentary playbills of the capital, and on RAI entertainment as well as in television drama; a few titles: Bartali, The Team, Journalists, Right of Defense....
In film she has worked with, among others, Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, Paolo Sorrentino, Carlo Verdone, Mimmo Colapresti, Giuseppe Ferrara, Elie Caroqui. In 2010 she founded the cultural association Camaleonti Erranti, and continues to support committed amateur theater with equipment, texts, and monologues (which she authors).
She was the studio journalist in " 1893. The Investigation" (1893. L'inchiesta). In "The Shameful Story" she interprets the role of Mnemosine, the narrator.
Francesco was born in Catania. He currently lives between Rome and Milan. He is an actor and cabaret performer, graduated at Paolo Grassi Academy, he works in theatre with a classic repertoire (Pirandello, Sheakespeare, Cechov) and in Television. In cinema he has worked with Italian directors such as Bertolucci, Tornatore and Piccioni.
He is author of theatrical monologues and has been member of the Genoese group Cavalli Marci, a partnership that lasted many years where he gave life to numerous characters still part of his repertoire. In the documentary he gives his voice to Adolfo Rossi, role also covered in "1893. L'inchiesta".
The Journalist Adolfo Rossi
Born in Catania, Edoardo lives in the Etna area of the city. A graduate of the Experimental Center of Cinematografy in Rome (C.S.C.), studying during the tenure of Roberto Perpignani, he took part in an editing internship at the German Film und Fernsehakademie (Film and Television Academy) of Berlin (Dffb). In 2015, his film which he wrote, directed, and edited, "I Fantasmi di San Berillo" (The Phantoms of Saint Berillo), was produced by Lemur Films, receiving the Best Film Award at the 31st Film Festival of Turin. Among his latest edited prize-winning documentaries are: Franco Maresco's "Belluscone-una storia siciliana" (Belluscone - A Sicilian Story) winning the special Jury Prize at the 71st International Exhibition of Venetian Film 2014 (Horizons category), Ilapalma production, and Franco Maresco's "Gli uomini di questa città non li conosco" (I don't know the men of this city), officially selected (out of category) at the 72nd International Exhibition of Cinema, Venice 2015, produced by Ilapalma-Rai Cinema. Among his 2015 fiction films are Tiziano Bosco's "L'attesa" (The Wait), the Sicilia Film Commission, APQ, a production of Babele Film, and Federico Cruciani's "Il bambino di vetro" (The Glass Boy) winning at the Roma Film Festival, (category Alice in the City, 2015 ) produced by Revolver Film.
Vincenzo Condorelli AIC
Vincenzo holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Filmmaking from the London Film School, and is a creator of film photography for national and international full-length and short films, both documentary and fiction, as well as for publicity spots, musical videoclips, and corporate projects. He has been instructor of Photographic Cinematography at the Foundation Center for Experimental Cinematography within the National School of Cinema seat in Sicily. He is the ideator and artistic director of "Countries of the Cinema - International Encounters on Cinematic Photography" (www.terredicinema.com), which is an international cinecampus and festival dedicated to the arts and to authorial techniques for cinematographic photography. Since 2011 he is a member of AIC - the Italian Association of Authors of Cinematic Photography and since 2014, a member of the Directive Council and national AIC delegate to the IMAGO General Assembly of the European Federation of Cinematographers. For "The Shameful Story", he is the camera operator and creator of photography.
Founded in 2010 by journalist and documentarist Nella Condorelli and director of photography, Vincenzo Condorelli, both with long experience accumulated in this sector, Factory Film is an independent production company based in Sicily and active in the Mediterranean area.
It is a member of AGPCI, an Association of Young Independent Cinematographic Producers.
It prioritizes the production of fiction films and documentaries of a social, historic, and investigative nature. It actively promotes the partcipation of young talent in workshops, summer school, festivals, project scholarships, market exhibitions, and international events for independent producers.
It is a partner in projects of excellence finalized as part of youth education in the film and audiovisual industries, and it has on its active list, prestigious collaborations with associations in the international film school field. In this area, Vincenzo Condorelli, graduate of the London Film School and member of the Directional Council of AIC (The Italian Association of Authors of Cinematic Photography), has conceived and is artistic director of the event "Terre di Cinema " (Lands of the Cinema) International Cinematographers' Days, www.terredicinema.org.
Since 2010, in the area of executive producton, Factory Film has positioned itself as a point of reference in the area of publicity for foreign productions and particularly Indian productions that choose to be filmed in Italy.
Today the company can count on a close network of professional partnerships and solid relationsips in this sector with several of the most important production companies from the Indian subcontinent.
Factory Film is also involved in organizing conferences, cultural events, literary and cinematographic exhibitions at every phase, from preparation to development, graphics and coordinated images, printing to PR, carefully attending to every detail.
From 2007 to 2013 it has produced "Women in the city" an independent international gender magazine, the first Italian web magazine of international scope geared to gender, conceived and directed by Nella Condorelli, vice-directress Isabelle Fougère, and supported by the Ministry of Rights and Equal Opportunity.
In 2012 the magazine received the Premio Calamaio for cross-media journalism and the 2012 Sasso Marconi prize for Great Communicators of Our Time.
